Vancouver is bordered by the Pacific Ocean to the west, the United States to the south, and the Coastal Range Mountains to the north and east.
Much of the Fraser Valley east of Vancouver is farmland. Ski hills dot the North Shore Mountains and fjiords and inlets line the coast.
