Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands are a 1.5 hour ferry trip from the BC Mainland. Victoria, the capital of the province of British Columbia, has a population of approximately 250,000 and strong ties to its British roots.

Tofino, on the west coast of Vancouver Island, is extremely beautiful and a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.

There are some gorgeous highways on the island and even more spectacular nature.
