Had to run as we left Vancouver an hour late. When I arrived at the Frankfurt airport to change planes for Berlin there were thousands of portable cots set up everywhere. Most were empty but “ready”. Ready for what, exactly???

I missed my flight to Berlin (and my first meetings!) and had to figure out what to do. Lots of people seemed to have missed their flights, too. So I picked a line and for some reason it was the right one. That’s a happy thing.
Ah, Berlin, where they have little steps so small children can reach the condom machine.
Now off to Manu’s place. He’s the süper düper director friend that lets me stay at his apartment over-looking the park, watch movies, and generally hang out and worship at the alter of Stanley Kubrick.
Since I missed all my meetings we decided to go straight to the Canadian Embassy Party.
The ambassador gave a really exciting and original speech about “bridging the gaps between our nations” but the wine was free and we met lots of people. Henrik from Vancouver was there and I met a nice Israeli lady and talked to her quite a bit until I realized I was mouthing weird, politically correct comments on Judaism. I think she left then.
Manu (Manuel Werner)
Manu was bored by the speech but had fun when the free wine started
The bathroom floor at the Canadian Embassy in Berlin. I think I was developing another storyline for the blog but can’t remember what it was now. I bet it was funny.
Manu making my bed in his living room. It was 5:30 in the morning. Berlin time. Oh dear. Meeting at 10:30 at the European Film Market at the Berlin International Film Festival! Must impress!
Everything will be fine.
